From ADF careers website You need to be an Australian citizen to serve in the ADF, although permanent residents may be considered for some positions. From the Australian army website The Army welcomes enquiries from current and ex-serving members of foreign defence forces who are interested in a new career and a new life in Australia.

The American tanks weren't under anyones' direct field command, plus they had no support infantry and they were on a different radio frequency, so not a lot of help initially. Fergusons' leadership was questionable in the beginning. The Canadians won out by ordering an artillery strike on their own position. They were properly dug in and suffered nothing from it.

You leave out the fact that between 1948-1950 a non publicly elected president, Syngman Rhee, had up to a million South Koreans executed for wanting to be a socialist state, non-violent people killed for wanting to discuss socialism/communism. All this happened at the request of the US and the US military, still there after the 2nd World War, just watched as people were summarily executed. That is why North Korea invaded, and as usual innocent men and women have to fight other innocent men and women based on lies.

The South Koreans wouldn't have been overrun so quickly at the start of the war if they had some tanks and artillery. Both South Korean President Syngman Rhee and Kim Il Sung wanted to unite the Korean peninsula under their respective governments, but the United States refused to give South Korea any heavy weapons, to ensure that its military could only be used for preserving internal order and self-defense. By contrast, Pyongyang was well equipped with Soviet aircraft, vehicles and tanks. The South just didn't have anything that could stop the WW2 surplus Soviet T-34 tanks that had been given to the North Koreans.

Yeah/nah, another example of “the Establishment” looking after their own, to the detriment of the hoi polloi. Look at the Decorations awarded after Kapyong, who got them and more relevantly perhaps, who didn’t get them? I remember, not so long ago, the “Establishment” conducted an “Inquiry” that “determined” to abolish decorations for ORs and NCOs and ONLY award them to Officers! They were surprised at the derision that ensued! Rather surprising that ALL Galantry awards since have been to ORs or NCOs?

How short-sighted. Idc i dont drive trucks anymore. But as a long range option this is ludicrous. Who is to change the tyre? Who is to grab a spanner and rlease the brakes on a trailer if they lock? Who is to take off and replace a hydrolic hose with a spare if its leaking? Who is to patch up a water leak and get your load in? Who is to watch the mirrors continually checking your load straps chains ropes looking for loosening load shifting? Add oil en route? A 2 hr trip from X to Y. Any of these issues happen at 1 hour in the truck will either 1. Stop and wait for a tyre guy, mechanic or anyone who can put a new fan belt on or, 2. Cook the engine sieze something shred tyres with brakes locked on etc if the computer fails. Either way someone is hungry waiting for rations or dead waiting for ammo. Its all fine when the dollar is there. But next year the budget gets cut, and then these problems just snowball.

In the U.N. Memorial Cemetery in Busan you will find that the South Koreans have not forgotten the sacrifices made by U.N. forces, including those from Australia, and hold our soldiers efforts in high respect. On the other hand, as depicted in the DPRK's Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum in Pyongyang, all the U.N. forces' flags are represented trodden into the mud. Not surprisingly, the narrative asserts the US. and allies as aggressors, and that DPRK soldiers (not the Chinese hordes) won a glorious victory under Kim Il Sung.

When I joined up, many decades ago, the recruiting guys asked me why I wanted to. I told them the standard BS - I wanted to serve my country. I was 17 - as if i owed my country anything at 17. Actually, I am 4th generation army, I thought it would help me pull chicks (it doesnt - or not the right sort of chicks, anyway), and I thought it would be fun to blow shit up. The recruiting guys heard that 'serve my country' comment pretty much every day, so they just wrote it down and off we went. I had some interesting experiences. I even had some experiences you could probably call good. And I had a lot of experiences you could definitely call bad. Was it worth it? Hard to say. But I can say that back then we were pretty neglected and we still are. Im proud to have pulled on the uniform. But could I have gone down a better path for me, personally? Probably. So think about it before you join up, because, I guarantee, its not like you think it will be. And its not like the adverts pretend it is.

I suggest the Australian army historians re evaluate the numbers of prc troop numbers deployed to north Korean manchuria, Historians an American army historians put prc troop numbers at atleast 1 million troop in total with over half killed in combat Definitely not 200 to 300 thousand ha ha

Im afraid that will be a huge disadvantage. It is highly proven that Electric powered vehicles has less distance than the fuel engined. In addition, the bushmaster weights tons and if performances declines, the more energy it requires so in this case theyre only useful for short term operations and possible to lose more vehicles when electrical engined. The best recomendation is to make a hybrid engined vehicles in that way, vehicles gets a greater travel distance. Unless staying in electric but instaling self destruct devices would be necessary.
